RNLI pauses lifeguard services at most South West beaches, except Weymouth, in September.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has halted lifeguard services at beaches in the South West, including West Bay, Lyme Regis, and Greenhill, while maintaining patrols at Weymouth Beach throughout September. Lifeguards advise beachgoers to choose lifeguarded locations, swim between red and yellow flags, and, if in trouble, lie flat on their backs with ears submerged. RNLI remains operational with 238 stations for search and rescue.
