A fire erupted under the Hopetoun St motorway bridge in central Auckland, New Zealand, around 5:08 PM, generating large plumes of black smoke and flames. Witnesses reported the intensity of the blaze. Local board member Alexandra Bonham indicated it may have originated from a homeless encampment, as the area has previously been used by the homeless. The community alerted Fire and Emergency New Zealand, which responded to the incident.
