South Bend officer on leave after early-morning shooting involving reported shots fired, injuring a male and a female.
A South Bend, Indiana police officer is on administrative leave following an officer-involved shooting early Sunday morning around 4:20 a.m. at Washington and Wellington Streets. The officer discharged their weapon after reporting shots fired, injuring a male who is hospitalized with a gunshot wound. A female also sustained non-gunfire-related injuries. The St. Joseph County Police Department is leading the investigation, with an internal review by the South Bend Police Department.
