Qatar Energy plans to build a 2,000 MW solar power plant in Dukhan for increased solar capacity and CO2 emission reduction.

QatarEnergy has unveiled plans to construct a 2,000-megawatt solar power plant in Dukhan, aiming to more than double the nation’s solar energy capacity to 4,000 megawatts by 2030. This initiative is part of Qatar's broader strategy to reduce CO2 emissions by 4.7 million tons annually. Additionally, QatarEnergy plans to expand urea production from 6 million to 12.4 million tons per year, positioning Qatar as the world's largest urea producer.
