Professor Yunus becomes Bangladesh's interim gov't Chief Adviser after Sheikh Hasina's ousting.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has assumed the role of Chief Adviser to Bangladesh's interim government following the ousting of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2024. He was sworn in on August 8 and has relocated to the newly renovated Chief Adviser's Office in Tejgaon, previously the Prime Minister's Office, which was vandalized during the unrest. Yunus plans to hold his first meeting with government secretaries to discuss key national issues and restore administrative functions.
