Mexico offers escorted bus rides to US asylum seekers from southern cities.

Mexico is providing escorted bus rides for non-Mexican migrants with U.S. asylum appointments from southern cities, Villahermosa and Tapachula, to the U.S. border. This initiative aims to encourage asylum applications from southern Mexico rather than pushing migrants north. Each migrant will receive a 20-day transit permit for legal passage, with security provided during transit. This decision follows the U.S. expansion of the CBP One application access.
