Malawian student Francina Lerato Kuwali is enhancing maize yields in Malawi using advanced Chinese farming techniques learned through the "China-Africa Science and Technology Backyard" program. This initiative, which pairs African students with Chinese farmers, has helped Kuwali raise yields from 150-200 kg to about 600 kg per mu by applying intercropping and composting methods. Agriculture is vital to Malawi’s economy, accounting for 80% of its output.
