In Kerala, CPI(M) accuses Congress of harboring a "power group" similar to the film industry.

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala has accused the opposition Congress party of harboring a "power group," akin to that in the film industry. CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan referenced former Congress member Simi Rosebell John's statement that women leaders need "sponsorship" from senior figures to advance. This accusation follows Congress leader V D Satheesan's claims of CPI(M) protecting individuals involved in a film scandal. The Congress has not yet responded.
