Hawthorn's women's football team opened their AFLW season with a commanding 38-point victory over Carlton, winning 9.12 (66) to 4.4 (28) at Frankston's Kinetic Stadium. Under new coach Daniel Webster, standout Eliza West led the Hawks with 28 disposals and 10 tackles. Despite a brief early lead from Carlton, Hawthorn quickly dominated the match. The Hawks will face Collingwood next, while Carlton plays Gold Coast.
