On August 21, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper rescued an injured kitten found near Interstate 77 in Stark County. After receiving reports about the animal, Trooper Justin Smith safely retrieved the kitten using a safety vest. The kitten was treated at Stark County Veterinary Emergency Clinic and is now in the care of the Stark County Humane Society, awaiting adoption. The circumstances of the kitten's presence on the highway remain unknown.
