José Huizar, former LA City Councilmember, had his 13-year prison sentence's start date delayed by a month due to a confidential medical issue. Huizar, who admitted to tax evasion and conspiracy to violate the RICO Act, was initially set to surrender on Aug 30 but now has until Oct 7. In addition to prison, he must pay $444,000 restitution to LA and $39,000 to the IRS.
