51-year-old John Pickering was jailed for two years and given a lifetime ban on owning animals after his two XL Bully dogs attacked a family's husky, Naevia, on Redcar beach, leaving the dog with life-threatening injuries. Pickering admitted to being in charge of the dogs and was found guilty of owning dangerous animals and putting others in danger. The two XL Bully dogs have been destroyed.
