Taiwan's Ministry of Environment establishes carbon fee regulations for 281 companies, with a reporting period in 2024 and emissions targets for 2030.

Taiwan's Ministry of Environment has released carbon fee regulations, affecting 281 electric utility companies, gas suppliers, and manufacturers (54% of total emissions). The carbon fee scheme, starting 2026, will require reporting 2024 emissions during the 2025 grace period, enabling companies to set 2030 emission reduction targets and submit action plans. Taiwan's domestic carbon credit exchange, TCX, is set to launch in October 2022.
