Sen. JD Vance appealed to tech billionaire Peter Thiel for financial support of the Trump campaign.

Sen. JD Vance, GOP vice presidential nominee, appealed to tech billionaire Peter Thiel for financial support of the Trump campaign, urging him to "get off the sidelines," according to an interview with the Financial Times. Thiel, who co-founded PayPal and Palantir, has been less enthusiastic about political involvement and had previously stated that he would not financially support Republican politicians in 2024. Thiel had backed Vance's 2022 Senate campaign with $15 million and supported Trump's 2016 campaign with $1.25 million.
