CII Chairman Dr. Naeemi condemns religious groups for threatening Pakistan's Chief Justice and misusing Islamic laws on blasphemy.
CII Chairman Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi denounced religious groups for misusing Islamic laws, accusing them of issuing death threats to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, after he declared a killing decree by a religious party leader in the Mubarak Sani case as unconstitutional. Naeemi warned that no one has the authority to issue a Fatwa for killing individuals suspected of blasphemy, and urged that only the state has the right to punish those found guilty of committing blasphemy. He highlighted that desecration of the Holy Quran is punishable by life imprisonment, not death.
