43-year-old van driver Anas Al Mustafa has been found guilty of assisting unlawful migration by smuggling seven migrants in a concealed compartment of his van via a ferry between Dieppe, France, and Newhaven, East Sussex. The discovery at the East Sussex port caused a major emergency services response, with migrants suffering from oxygen deprivation and dehydration. One woman experienced acute kidney injury, while a man had a possible heart attack and another went into a comatose state. Al Mustafa will be sentenced on September 6.
