31-year-old goaltender Laurent Brossoit, signed by the Chicago Blackhawks, underwent meniscus surgery on his right knee and will be sidelined for 5-7 weeks. The two-year, $6.6 million deal signing had previously played for the Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, and Vegas Golden Knights. Brossoit's debut with the Blackhawks may be delayed as the team's regular season begins on October 8th.
