The New York Giants have unretired the iconic number 1 jersey, originally retired in 1935 for Hall of Fame defensive end Ray Flaherty. The Giants received permission from Flaherty's family to allow rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was initially wearing number 9, to wear the number. The team plans to retire the number again once Nabers' career with the Giants comes to an end.
