Metallica paid tribute to a fan, Lorne, who tragically passed away during their concert in Edmonton, Canada on August 23rd. The band shared a post on social media expressing their sadness at his passing, due to health issues, and acknowledged that he spent some of his final moments with them. Lorne, who had the nickname "Viking", was taken out of the concert venue on a stretcher by emergency medical services and given CPR, but could not be saved. Metallica is currently on the M72 World Tour 2023/2024, supporting their 2023 album, 72 Seasons.
