Private hospitals in J&K had refused admissions under the scheme, citing unpaid claims, while the govt argued that the insurance company cannot unilaterally terminate the contract. AB-PMJAY-SEHAT scheme, launched by J&K govt, offers free universal health coverage to residents, with annual health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per family on a floater and cashless basis.
