India pays $11m for hybrid solar-wind power projects on 3 remote Sri Lankan islands.

India has handed over the first payment for hybrid power projects on three Sri Lankan islands off Jaffna, not connected to the national grid. The USD 11 million project will address energy needs and combine solar and wind energy. Scheduled for completion by early March 2025 and handover by late April 2025, the project reflects India's commitment to bilateral energy cooperation and human-centric development initiatives in Sri Lanka.
