The Diocese of Pasig receives permission to advance the sainthood cause of Servant of God Laureana Franco.

The Diocese of Pasig in the Philippines has been granted permission to continue with the sainthood cause of Servant of God Laureana "Ka Luring" Franco, a lay catechist known for her service to the poor. Born in 1936, Franco worked as a switchboard operator and joined the Legion of Mary as a full-time catechist in 1969. She received awards for her service to the Church, including the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice award from St. John Paul II in 1990 and the Mother Teresa Award in 2002. The sainthood process requires a miracle attributed to her intercession and canonization by the Pope.
