2024-25 Delhi University academic session commences with 68,000 students enrolled, despite exceeding sanctioned capacity due to CUET UG score delay.

Delhi University's academic session for the 2024-25 year commenced on August 29, welcoming around 68,000 students across 1,559 programs at 69 colleges and departments. The university admitted 90,644 candidates, surpassing its sanctioned capacity of 71,600 seats, to ensure optimal seat filling. The late release of Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) scores caused a slight delay in the start of classes. A third admission round is planned for performance-based programs, supernumerary quotas, and special categories.
