An Bord Pleanála has granted permission for a 600-acre solar farm in Co Kildare, Ireland, despite objections from the equine industry, particularly the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (ITBA). The solar farm, proposed by Delamain Solar Farm Ltd, will not result in any loss of land currently used for equine activities, according to appeals board inspector Karla McBride. The board determined that while temporary and short-term disturbances may occur during construction, the solar farm will not seriously injure residential amenities or cause a traffic hazard.
