AirAsia X records a 13.01% Q2 2024 net profit decline, but revenue increases 30.46% with two additional aircraft planned for the year.

AirAsia X, Malaysia's low-cost carrier, saw a 13.01% decline in Q2 2024 net profit due to seasonal weakness and a reduced 18-aircraft fleet. However, revenue increased by 30.46% to 669.14 million ringgit. The airline anticipates two additional aircraft to resume operations in the second half of the year, while the appreciation of the Malaysian ringgit and lower jet fuel prices are expected to boost earnings.
