Zoo Miami and San Antonio Zoo successfully hatched threatened Texas horned lizards for reintroduction into the wild.

Zoo Miami, along with the Center for Conservation & Research at San Antonio Zoo, successfully hatched threatened Texas horned lizards as part of the Texas Horned Lizard Reintroduction Project. The first hatchlings emerged in August, and more are expected. These hatchlings will be released back into the wild in Texas to support conservation efforts for the endangered species, facing threats like habitat loss and invasive species.
