Two people were injured, including a 13-year-old student, after a head-on collision between a Kia Forte and a school bus in Santa Cruz County, California. The Kia driver was traveling in the wrong lane before the crash, which caused a fire. The student and the 28-year-old Kia driver were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, while the school bus driver remained uninjured. The bus was transporting 43 students to Aptos junior and high schools. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it is not believed that alcohol or drugs were involved. Immediate evacuation of all students took place, and counseling services are being provided at both schools.
