Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers' partial veto on a school literacy bill upheld by Dane County Circuit Court.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has been found by a Dane County Circuit Court judge to have correctly used his partial veto powers on a school literacy bill. The judge ruled that Evers' changes to the bill, which aimed to improve K-12 student reading performance, were in line with the constitution as it is considered an appropriation bill and therefore subject to partial vetoes. The $50 million allocated for the literacy initiatives remains under the control of the Legislature's finance committee.
