Vodafone Idea directed to pay Rs 16.70 crore in taxes and penalties for ineligible input tax credits; plans legal action.
Vodafone Idea (VIL) has been directed by the GST office in Patna to pay Rs 15.19 crore in taxes and a Rs 1.51 crore penalty for allegedly claiming ineligible input tax credits in FY20 and FY21. The company plans to dispute the order via legal action. The order, issued under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, carries applicable interest.
