UN World Food Program investigates Sudan operations over fraud and obstruction allegations amid severe food crisis.

The UN World Food Program (WFP) has initiated an investigation into its Sudan operations due to allegations of fraud, misleading donors about food aid delivery capabilities, and potential army-led obstruction of aid. This comes as Sudan faces one of the world's worst food shortages, with over 25 million people, or half of the population, facing crisis levels of hunger or worse. The WFP is seeking $22.7 billion in funding to reach 157 million people, including those on the brink of famine.
