49% of LGBT+ individuals face bullying or harassment at work, with 21% verbally abused and 5% experiencing physical violence: TUC survey.

A recent TUC survey of 1,000 LGBT+ individuals revealed that nearly half face bullying or harassment at work. One in five reported verbal abuse within the last five years, with one in 20 experiencing physical violence, threats, or intimidation due to their sexual orientation. Approximately 30% of LGBT+ workers conceal their sexual identity at work, and discrimination is highest among young LGBT+ employees aged 18-24. TUC general secretary, Paul Nowak, called for the law to hold employers accountable for preventing harassment, not victims.
