Lahore High Court temporarily halts fixed electricity charges in Pakistan due to insufficient approvals.

Lahore High Court (LHC) has temporarily halted fixed charges on electricity bills in Pakistan due to a petition arguing LESCO imposed them without proper approvals. The court's stay comes after LESCO implemented fixed charges from July 1, 2024, aiming to boost revenue. Nine companies, including Flying Paper Mills, filed the petition, represented by Advocate Khawaja Waseem Abbas. The court will order LESCO to cancel fixed charges while the matter is further investigated.
