Irish government expands Wage Subsidy Scheme to include more sectors & reduce minimum hours, effective Jan 2025.

The Irish government plans to expand its Wage Subsidy Scheme, which supports private sector employers in hiring individuals with disabilities. This follows a review that resulted in changes, such as reducing the minimum hours from 21 to 15, extending the scheme to community and voluntary sectors, and commercial state-sponsored sectors. The updated Wage Subsidy Scheme is expected to be implemented in January 2025.
