Iowa attempted murder suspect Ali Younes, who fled to Jordan in May before his trial, has returned to the United States and is awaiting extradition. Younes, who allegedly strangled a woman on the University of Iowa campus and stole her earrings, faces additional charges of escape by a felon. University police maintained communication with Younes in Jordan and facilitated his voluntary return with the assistance of the U.S. Embassy in Jordan. Court dates will be determined once Younes returns to Iowa.
