Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the 44th PRAGATI meeting, reviewing seven significant projects worth over Rs 76,500 crore across 11 states and union territories. The major projects spanned sectors like road connectivity, railways, coal, power, and water resources. Modi stressed the importance of timely implementation to avoid public deprivation and cost escalation. Discussions included AMRUT 2.0, public grievances related to the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the need for adequate operation and maintenance mechanisms for Jal Jeevan projects. The Prime Minister advised chief secretaries to personally monitor AMRUT 2.0 works and consider future growth potential and city needs when planning drinking water.
