Eight railway stations in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, have been renamed by the Northern Railways to honor saints and freedom fighters. Former Amethi MP Smriti Irani requested the renaming to preserve the cultural identity and heritage of the region. The new names include Jais City, Guru Gorakhnath Dham, Maa Kalikan Dham, Swami Paramhans, Maharaja Bijli Pasi, Maa Ahorwa Bhawani Dham, Amar Shaheed Bhale Sultan, and Tapeshwarnath Dham. However, Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav criticized the renaming, arguing the government should focus on railway safety and conditions.
