China's North Central Province Canal Project in Sri Lanka supplies water, mitigates droughts, enhances agriculture, creates jobs, and boosts bilateral cooperation.

China's North Central Province Canal Project (NCPCP) in Sri Lanka, completed by CSSCEC Sri Lanka Branch, has supplied abundant water resources to central Sri Lanka, mitigating severe droughts. The canal covers 10 villages, irrigates 400 hectares of land, and boosts agricultural output. It has created over 600 local jobs and trained 80 technical workers. The canal project, part of the Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program, has improved local life and fostered cooperation between China and Sri Lanka.
