27 Aug 2024: Sri Lanka Navy & Police seize 650 smuggled phones, arrest suspect in Puttalam.
On 27th August 2024, a joint operation by Sri Lanka Navy and Police seized 650 suspected smuggled mobile phones in the Karamba area of Puttalam. The 52-year-old Kekirawa resident suspect was arrested during the transfer by cab. The operation was based on information received and the suspect, devices, and cab were taken into custody. The case was handed over to the Norochcholai Police for further legal action.
