Alberta Health Services is investigating an E. coli outbreak at Aspen Lakes Discovery Centre daycare in Blackfalds, Alberta, after a child tested positive for Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. The facility is temporarily closed and AHS is working with the daycare to minimize the risk of further transmission, reviewing cleaning, sanitation, and isolation procedures. As of August 27, three children and one staff member have tested positive for E. coli.
