42-year-old Sean Griffin, a long-time member of Ketchikan, Alaska's public works team, was killed in a landslide on Sunday while volunteering to clear stormwater drains. The landslide, caused by heavy rainfall, led to mandatory evacuations and injured three individuals. Gov. Mike Dunleavy issued an Alaska Disaster Emergency Declaration, and landslides are common in southeast Alaska.
