USPS abandons Nevada mail reroute through California due to opposition from Nevada officials.

The USPS has scrapped its plan to reroute Nevada mail through California after facing opposition from Nevada officials. The initial proposal aimed to route Nevada's mail via West Sacramento before returning it to the state. The Vassar Street Post Office in Reno will continue processing certain local originating mail, with $13.4m investment for changes. USPS expects annual savings of $3bn through reduced transportation costs.
