2026 recruit Faizon Brandon's mother files lawsuit against North Carolina over NIL restrictions in high school sports.
The mother of top-ranked quarterback Faizon Brandon, a 2026 recruit set to attend Tennessee, has filed a lawsuit against the state of North Carolina over its restrictions on public high school athletes monetizing their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). Rolanda Brandon, Faizon's mother, argues that North Carolina's policy, adopted in June, jeopardizes Faizon's ability to capitalize on life-changing opportunities and provide financial security for himself and his family. A prominent national trading card company had reportedly agreed to pay Faizon Brandon to sign memorabilia before graduation, offering the family financial security for years to come. The lawsuit names the state Board of Education and its Department of Public Instruction as defendants.
