NFL considers allowing 10% private equity investment in teams, following other major sports leagues.

The NFL is set to vote on allowing select private equity firms to invest up to 10% of a team stake, with Ares Management, Sixth Street Partners, Arctos Partners, Dynasty Equity, Blackstone, Carlyle Group, and CVC Capital Partners showing initial interest. This move makes the NFL the last major sports league to allow private equity investment, following the NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS, which permit up to 30%. The 10% stake is seen as a complement to the existing ownership structure, potentially raising in the future as team valuations rise.
