GM completes $788m body shop expansion at Flint Assembly plant for next-gen heavy-duty truck production.

General Motors (GM) has completed its $788m body shop expansion at its Flint Assembly plant, adding 263,000 square feet to support production of the next generation of heavy-duty pickup trucks. The project, which took 100,000 worker hours, is part of a $1bn investment in Flint Assembly plant and Flint Metal Center to prepare the sites for producing next-generation, gas-powered heavy-duty trucks. The expansion also includes a more extensive assembly conveyor system, new tooling, and new equipment.
