General Motors (GM) has completed its $788m body shop expansion at its Flint Assembly plant, adding 263,000 square feet to support production of the next generation of heavy-duty pickup trucks.
The project, which took 100,000 worker hours, is part of a $1bn investment in Flint Assembly plant and Flint Metal Center to prepare the sites for producing next-generation, gas-powered heavy-duty trucks.
The expansion also includes a more extensive assembly conveyor system, new tooling, and new equipment.
