The investigation stemmed from a report on ads placed by Elon Musk's X platform appearing next to pro-Nazi content on Twitter. U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta stated that Missouri's interest in enforcing consumer protection laws must give way when a state actor uses them to retaliate against a media organization for protected speech.
