China revises compulsory education textbooks in ethics, language, history, and law, featuring new archaeological findings and trialling in over 550 schools.

China announces new revised textbooks covering ethics, rule of law, Chinese language, and history for the upcoming autumn semester in compulsory education. The revisions feature new archaeological findings for Chinese civilization and enhance national security and rule of law education. Chinese language studies are made less difficult. These textbooks, beginning with primary and middle school first grades, will cover all nine years of compulsory education within three years. The Ministry of Education launched the textbook revision project in March 2022, involving over 200 experts. The revised textbooks were trialed in over 550 schools, and all teachers need to complete training by the end of August.
