26 August protests erupted at the Indian visa centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh, as frustrated applicants demonstrated over delays and alleged harassment in obtaining visas. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh raised concerns over the safety and security of Indian establishments in the country, following the unruly scenes. Indian visa application centres in Dhaka and Satkhira were temporarily closed due to the protests. The Indian High Commission has requested enhanced security and taken up the matter with Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
