43-year-old Shreveport man, Fredrick D. Washington, was arrested for setting fire to his mother's home while she was inside and stealing her vehicle. The incident occurred on Buncombe Rd, and Washington was found and arrested at the PETRO Truck Stop without further incident. He faces charges of attempted second-degree murder by the State Fire Marshal and theft of a motor vehicle by Caddo deputies, and is currently held at the Caddo Correction Center.
