7-year-old Lake Pope died in a car accident caused by father Edward Pope, charged with DWI.

7-year-old Lake Pope died in a car accident caused by his father, 38-year-old Edward Pope of Belhaven, NC. Tragically, the accident occurred when Edward, charged with DWI, drove off Highway 903 and hit a tree, landing the vehicle on its top in a ditch. His 10-year-old son was critically injured and taken to ECU Health Medical Center. Edward Pope is currently jailed without bond.
