48-year-old Jason Delaney Bishop from Tanilba Bay, Australia, received a four-year and nine-month prison sentence for attempting to procure a nine-year-old girl online for sexual activity. Bishop was communicating with an undercover police officer posing as the child's mother and was caught with 32 child abuse material images on his phone. He pleaded guilty to one count each of using a carriage service to groom a person, possessing child abuse material, and failing to comply with child offenders register obligations. The judge considered Bishop's early guilty pleas and backdated the sentence, making him eligible for parole in February 2026.
